Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals is continuing its commitment to neighbors in need with another $1,000 donation to Hometown Missions, a local faith-based nonprofit bringing the community together to build and repair homes for Dripping Springs-area residents.
The donation marks the second $1,000 contribution from DS Elite to Hometown Missions in just over a year and comes at an important time as the nonprofit prepares for a busy fall season of service projects throughout the community.
Supporting Neighbors Right Here at Home
For DS Elite, supporting Hometown Missions is a natural extension of the organization’s commitment to the Dripping Springs community. DS Elite’s members, who are local Realtors and Brokers who live, work and serve Dripping Springs residents, have a firsthand understanding of just how important a safe, functional home can be.
“Giving back to the community is an important part of who we are as DS Elite,” said Kelli Whirlow, Realty Austin | COMPASS agent and DS Elite member.
“Our members are much more than real estate professionals. We’re neighbors, parents, business owners and community leaders who genuinely care about the people who live here. Supporting organizations like Hometown Missions gives us an opportunity to help make a meaningful difference right here at home,” Whirlow added.
Hometown Missions works with volunteers, churches, businesses and community partners to build and repair homes for neighbors who need a helping hand. Its work goes beyond construction. The organization’s mission is centered on restoring safety, dignity, independence and hope through both major housing projects and smaller but critical home repairs.
Recent projects demonstrate just how varied those needs can be, from roof and accessibility improvements to property cleanup, water diversion and other repairs that help make homes safer for the people who live in them. With additional projects planned including its signature “Home in a Month” slated for early 2027, fundraising this fall is critical for projects in 2026 and into the new year ahead.
More Than a Donation
The $1,000 check was accepted by Trey Powers, Hometown Missions Board Member and DS Elite Advertiser for City Bank Mortgage. With a connection to both organizations, Powers sees firsthand how local businesses and professionals can make an impact when they come together to support their neighbors.
“Part of being a DS Elite agent and advertiser means providing top-notch care for our customers and our community,” said Powers. “Supporting Hometown Missions is one way DS Elite can put that commitment into action, helping care for our neighbors and strengthen the community we all call home.”
That commitment goes beyond financial support. DS Elite members and advertisers have also volunteered alongside Hometown Missions on service projects, putting their time and energy behind the same mission their donations help fund.
