There is no better way to show love for a community than to give back. That’s one of the goals of Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals who recently wrapped up a new clothing drive for Foster Village that serves children in the foster care system. The group raised nearly $400 in new clothing, sports balls, Amazon Wish List orders and cash donations.
“February is known as the month of love,” said Edith Austin, member of the Dripping Springs Elite non-profit committee. “With Valentine’s Day as our backdrop, we thought it would be a great time to highlight the generosity of this community, and together, share the love with those in need.”
The group asked local businesses, students and residents to join in the month-long clothing drive. New items, size 0-16 were collected at various donation stations in the community and Dripping Springs Elite real estate agents collected clothing in drop-off lines at Dripping Springs Elementary School.
“We are so humbled by all of the support we receive from our community,” said Chrystal Smith, founder/executive director of Foster Village. “We can’t thank everyone enough for all of the generous efforts. This will truly help out the many foster parents who are caring for children in our area.”
Donations are given to foster children and their caregivers through the coordinated efforts of Foster Village, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of those in the foster care system.
