Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals recently stepped up to support our community with a generous donation to Hometown Missions of Dripping Springs. During our monthly meeting on July 6, DS Elite’s Charitable Giving Committee represented by Kristen Rummel, Realty Austin agent, and Mica Gutierrez, Compass agent, presented a $1,000 check to Hometown Missions. Chris Kelker-Newlan, operations manager for Hometown Missions, gratefully accepted the check and seized the moment to educate DS Elite members on the various activities and programs that Hometown Missions actively engages in within the local community.
“This donation will play a crucial role in our next Home In A Month project that Hometown Missions has scheduled for the Salazar Family, set to kick off in Fall 2023,” Kelker-Newlan said.
Hometown Missions, which has built a reputation for its unwavering commitment to helping neighbors in need since 2010, will channel these funds into ensuring the successful execution of the upcoming project, creating a stable and welcoming home for the Salazar family.
The support from Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals goes beyond just financial assistance. Our membership of agents from different brokerages has also committed to rolling up our sleeves and volunteering for a workday later this month.
“This hands-on involvement will contribute significantly to the preparatory work needed for the Home In A Month project,” Kelker-Newlan added.

What started in 2016 with a small group of local REALTORS meeting to discuss not only the special nuances of helping clients buy and sell Hill Country real estate but also the growing challenges of the industry, launched into an alliance of 25 individual brokers and agents in 2017. At that time, 67% of all homes in Dripping Springs were sold by agents who didn’t live or work in the area, and many buyers and sellers were negatively impacted because of it. This was the driving force behind the formation of Dripping Springs Elite Real Estate Professionals – a collaboration to strengthen the Dripping Springs real estate market and improve services to those buying and selling in the area.
